Pakistan vs India Final, Asian Games 2026

 

Pakistan went down fighting by 19 runs to India to claim silver medal at Asian Games 2026. The reason for Pakistan's defeat in the final was slow start to the innings with Pakistan being 39 for 3 in 6 overs at one stage and Saim Ayub's 19th over of the indian innings when he conceded 23 runs.

Had Pakistan got Abhishek Sharma's wicket much earlier then they would have been in a far better situation in the match as Abhishek Sharma top scored with 61 runs for India. Having said that Hassan Nawaz played a gem of an innings with 96 runs off 54 balls which took Pakistan close to the target.

In the end what I would like to say is that this match which was the gold medal clash didnt turn out to be one sided despite India being the firm favourites to win the final.

Asia games Final, Pakistan vs India 2026

 

Pakistan meet India in the final of Asian games 2026 while Pakistan's semi final against Bangladesh was somewhat closely fought with Pakistan winning by 6 wickets the Indian semi final with Sri Lanka was totally one sided with India crushing Sri Lanka by 124 runs.

India in the final against Pakistan are the clear favourites as they are better than Pakistan in each department of the game that is batting, bowling and fielding. The Indian team is looking invincible at the moment and hardly they have any weakness.

In the end what I would like to say is that Pakistan can only defeat India if their bowlers get out cheaply Indian batsmen which include players like Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson. In batting Pakistani batsmen have to come out with a strategy to how to handle the dangerous bowling of Jasprit Bumrah.

Asian games 2026

 

Pakistan stand a good chance of winning atleast Bronze medal in the upcoming Asian games in 2026. They will face stiff opposition from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India for any medal in the cricket competition in Asian games.

Pakistan have a good composition of youth and experience. In experienced players they have Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Abrar Ahmed and Usman Khan. In youth they have Maaz Sadaqat, Ali Raza and Arafat Minhas etc. 

Pakistan's main challenge in Asian games comes from India whom they havent defeated in Twenty20 internationals for four years now. Pakistan's last win in twenty20 internationals against India came in Super 4 stage of Asia Cup in 2022 in UAE.

In the end what I would like to say is that Pakistan have the ability to win gold in Asian games mens tournament 2026.

Pakistan are weak in test cricket

 

Pakistan's recent performances in test cricket is pathetic to say the least. Pakistan is not only losing in South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia in test cricket but also in asian conditions such as Bangladesh.

Pakistani batting collapses in countries such as South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia regularly. Part of the reason for batting collapses in such countries are that pitches in these countries are fast, pacy and bouncy. Pakistani batsmen do not possess the technique and temperament to play in these countries. Also another reason is that Pakistani batsmen are used to playing in flat, spinning, turning, low bounce and slow conditions at home.

In the end what  would like to say is that Pakistani bowlers lack pace and that is the main reason for their failure in test cricket. 

Pakistan's miserable tour to England finally ends 2026

 

Pakistan have been whitewashed 3-0 by England and it is embarrassing to say the least. On the otherhand there were some positives in this tour. Saud Shakeel, Azan Awais, Shan Masood and in the last innings Babar Azam batted well in the series. In bowling Mohammad Abbas was consistently good and picked up wickets regularly in the series. Razaullah was the find of the tour as he shone not only with the ball but also with the bat.

Pakistan finally got a flat pitch in this series and their first innings score of 133 runs was disappointing and disheartening to say the least. Razaullah's heroics with the bat ensured that Pakistan avoided an innings defeat.

In the end what I would like to say is that Pakistan finally showed fight in the third test match of the series at Edgbaston and Mohsin Naqvi's decision to make all these changes in the team was justified.

Pakistan facing whitewash in their series against England 2026

 

Pakistan in all probability will lose the Third test against England today that is 3rd days play. There are very few positives for Pakistan in this test series. Saud Shakeel's batting has been Pakistan's only positive in this test series while Azan Awais has also shown promise. In bowling Razaullah and Mohammad Imran have shown plenty of potential on their debut.

Pakistan have finally found a genuine pace bowler in Razaullah who was impressive picking up four wickets including that of a world class batsman like Joe Root. Razaulllah has a bright future ahead of him and his slingy bowling action reminds me of Wahab Riaz.

Our batting has flopped throughout the series against England and it will be interesting to see whether they can cross a total of 200 runs in this test series in their last innings of the tour.

In the end what I would like to say is that Pakistan were found to be absolutely clueless against English bowling especially Ollie Robinson.

Pakistan's Champions Trophy Win 2017

 

Pakistan cricket team's Champions Trophy win in 2017 came as a major surprise as Pakistan were the lowest ranked team in the Tournament ranked 8th. Sarfraz Ahmed was the captain this time and having led Pakistan to Under-19 World Cup win in 2006 this wasnt a new experience for him.

Pakistan began the tournament badly with a crushing defeat at the hands of India in their opening match but they regained form and momentum by defeating South Africa and Sri Lanka in their remaining group stage matches to set a date against England in the Semi Final. England were one of the pre tournament favourites to win the tournament but Pakistan crushed them by 8 wickets in the semi final having restricted them to a below par total of 211 runs.

In the Final against India Fakhar Zaman scored a match winning century with Azhar Ali and Mohammad Hafeez scoring half centuries allowing Pakistan to post a mammoth total of 338 runs on board. Muhammad Amir then took the early wickets of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shekhar Dhawan to set up Pakistan's Champions trophy win by restricting India to a score of 161 runs. 

In the end what I would like to say is that Champions Trophy is the only ICC event where Pakistan have defeated India thrice.

Pakistan's 2009 World Cup Twenty20 triumph

 

Pakistan's 2009 Twenty20 World Cup win came as no surprise as they were very close to winning the 2007 Twenty20 World Cup against India in the Final had Misbah ul Haq not played that atrocious shot of scooping the ball in Sreesanth hands off Joginder Sharma's bowling. 

Nevertheless after defeating Netherlands with a higher net runrate than Netherlands Pakistan reached the Super Eights after losing to England in their opening game. After losing to Sri Lanka in their first match of Super Eights Pakistan finally found form against New Zealand with Umar Gul being the chief destroyer. After defeating Ireland Pakistan reached the semi final against South Africa.

Shahid Afridi played a match winning innings coming at No.3 in the batting order to ensure Pakistan scored a decent total of 149 on board. Then Pakistan restricted South Africa to a score of 142 runs to set a date with Sri Lanka in the Final. Pakistan restricted Sri Lanka to a below par total of 139 runs and then Shahid Afridi once again played a heroic innings to lift the Twenty20 world Cup 2009 for Pakistan for the very first time.

In the end what I would like to say of the three ICC events that is Champions Trophy, 50 over world cup and Twenty20 world Cup Pakistan looks like a capable team in only Twenty20 World Cups.

Pakistan make 7 changes on their tour of England 2026

 

Pakistan have made several changes to the test team and bringing whiteball coach Mike Hesson as test coach. There was no use making such changes as the new players brought in are inexperienced and will not fare any better than the original squad.

The only good selection made to this new squad is that of Saim Ayub as Saim Ayub is a pretty talented batsman and we shouldnt waste his talent. Also Saim Ayub has an aggressive approach to his batting which will bring positivity to Pakistan's batting especially at the top order where Pakistan is struggling at the moment.

In the end what I would like to say that Pakistan will most probably be thrashed 3-0 in this test series against England because of wrong selection of players.

Pakistan face a daunting task in the second test against England 2026

 

Pakistan will most probably be defeated in the second test in the 4th day's play as England lead by a massive 357 runs on a pitch that is extremely difficult for batting. The Pakistani bowlers did their best in this test match but their batsmen let them down badly by scoring a paltry 110 runs total in their first innings.

The only batsman who has stood out for Pakistan in this test match is Azan Awais who is a youngster and new to international cricket. I think Pakistan should continue with Azan Awais for a long time as he has got talent. 

This Pakistan team is being labelled by cricket experts like Stuart Broad and Micheal Vaughan as the weakest Pakistan team to tour England in 50 years. I am sure that I agree with them.

In the end what I would like to say is that Pakistan will do well if they can avoid defeat in the third and last test match against England in Edgbaston Birmingham.

Pakistan facing defeat in the Second test against England 2026

 

Pakistan face another humiliating defeat at the hands of England in the second test at Lords. Pakistani batting once again collapsed to 110 all out against England in the first innings which might be very disheartening and dispiriting for Pakistani fans.

Our batting certainly doesnt have the technique to face swing bowling and the ball that move a lot either by swing or seam and they get exposed regularly particularly in overseas test matches. Pakistani batsmen are brought on flat pitches at home and when they go abroad especially on pitches like in countries such as England, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand they struggle.

In the end what I would like to say is that England are a much better test team than Pakistan especially in their home conditions.

The second test is evenly poised between Pakistan and England 2026

 

Pakistan and England second test is evenly poised with Pakistan slightly ahead as England are 248 for 9 at stumps on Day 1 of the test match. Again I would say that Pakistan let the England lower order to somewhat and to some extent comeback in this test match when they were 122 for 5 with Jamie Smith scoring a half century and Gus Atkinson at 34 not out.

This letting the lower order batsmen to score runs proved to be devastating for Pakistan as Pakistani pacemen dont have the pace to knockout these batsmen with pace. I wonder why they are not playing Ubaid Shah as he has some pace as compared to Mohammad Abbas, Khurram Shahzad and Muhammad Ali.

In the end what I would like to say is that Pakistani batsmen will need to bat well in this test match as conditions favour bowlers in this test match as there is lot of seam, sideways movement and swing on this Lord's pitch.

Pakistan's 1992 World Cup triumph

 

These are gloomy days for Pakistan cricket fans as we hardly win any match nowadays especially in test cricket. Therefore I decided to reminiscence my memories of 1992 World Cup won under Imran Khan's captaincy by Pakistan by defeating England in the Final by 22 runs in Melbourne Cricket Ground.

 Pakistan looked down and out losing three matches to West Indies, India and South Africa. Their only win coming against Zimbabwe and with a miraculous escape from defeat and sharing an abandoned match due to rain with one point each after being bowled out for 71 runs against England. In their next match against Australia Imran Khan ordered his pacemen Wasim Akram and Aaqib Javed to bowl as fast as they can on this pitch in Perth without worrying about Wides and No-balls. This inspirational instruction worked for Pakistan against Australia as Australia chasing Pakistan's total of 220 runs folded for just 167 odd runs. Pakistan then went onto beat Sri Lanka and New Zealand to reach the semifinals of 1992 World Cup.

Inzamam ul Haq surprisingly came into form in the semi finals and final of the 1992 World Cup playing match winning knock at a brisk pace of 61 in the semi final against New Zealand and 42 runs against England in the Final. Wasim Akram's match winning performance in the Final against England probably won the 1992 World Cup for Pakistan. Wasim Akram scored a brisk 33 runs in the Final with the bat off only 18 balls and then with the ball he took the vital wickets by clean bowling Allan Lamb and Chris Lewis off consecutive deliveries.

In the end what I would like to say that in the absence of legendary cricketers which were in 1992 World Cup team like Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Inzamam ul Haq and Wasim Akram it seems impossible whether Pakistan will win the fifty over world cup again.

Pakistan suffer a crushing defeat against England first test 2026

 Pakistan suffered a heavy defeat of an innings and 103 runs against England in the first test at headingley leeds. Probably their fortunes will turn when Babar Azam will be back and Lords is a happy hunting ground for Pakistan. 

In their 2016 and 2018 tours to England Pakistan won at Lords so there is no reason why Pakistan wont give England a tough time this time too. If our batting clicks and our bowling all of a sudden becomes penetrative then In Sha Allah Pakistan will  be able to beat England in the second test at Lords. For me Mohammad Abbas holds the key to Pakistan's success at Lords.

In the end what I would like to say is that Pakistan will hopefully make a comeback in the test series against England in the second test at Lords.

Pakistan clearly missing Babar Azam in the first test vs England 2026

 

Pakistan were clearly missing the services of Babar Azam both as batsmen and captain. I dont agree with Stuart Broad's assessment of Pakistan being a weak test team and a poor side as we have been giving England tough time in their last three series in 2016, 2018 and 2020. In 2016 and 2018 series the test series was shared between England and Pakistan 2-2 and 1-1 respectively. In 2020 test series England came from behind to win the test series 1-0 in a match Pakistan should have won but lost because of Azhar Ali's poor captaincy by only three wickets.

Babar Azam is the only difference between the two teams as without Babar Azam Pakistan is losing not only a World Class batsmen but a fine leader as well. Without Babar Azam Pakistan cricket team looks weak. Also Ubaid Shah should have played in this test match as Pakistan cricket team's bowling is again lacking pace.

In the end what I would like to say is that Pakistan cricket team's morale would have boosted had Babar Azam played this test match as his injury wasnt that serious.

Pakistan's tour of England 2026

 

 

Pakistan will play three test matches in England and it will be very tough tour for Pakistan especially their batsmen as the ball swings a lot in England and there is a lot of sideways movement for their batsmen to cope with. The pitch in Tarouba Brian Lara Academy was a similar pitch to what we would encounter in England and over there our batting failed twice particularly collapsing in the second innings chasing a target of 211 runs.

The bowlers Pakistani batsmen particularly have to watch out for are Jofra Archer, Josh Tongue and Gus Atkinson. Jofra Archer is a very threatening bowler as compared to the other two and he is a devastating and dangerous fast bowler. Also England have a world class batsmen in their batting line up whose name is Joe Root.

In the end what I would like to say is that Pakistan will do well if they can prevent a whitewash 3-0 in their test tour of England.

Pakistan's finally win a test abroad

 

Pakistan finally win a test match outside their home against West Indies by 8 wickets. This is their first win in away test matches for 3 years ending their streak of losing 8 matches in a row. Their last test win abroad came against Sri Lanka in 2023.  Babar azam has made a successful comeback as captain of Pakistan's test team. 

They got their selection right playing two genuine and good spinners in Sajid Khan and Ali Usman. Also Ubaid Shah's selection was justified as he brought pace in Pakistan's bowling. Mohammad Abbas exclusion was right as Mohammad Abbas might have not been effective on this spinning pitch. Abdullah Shafique played a gem of an innings of 160 not out in the first innings of this test match to give Pakistan a vital lead in the first innings of the test match.

In the end what I would like to say is that PCB made the right decision in selecting Babar Azam as test captain in place of Shan Masood.

Pakistan's recent test losses

 

Pakistan's recent test losses first against Bangladesh and now in the first test between Pakistan and West Indies is a cause for concern. If Pakistan are losing to low ranked test teams like Bangladesh and West Indies then they are doomed to be whitewashed 3-0 on their tour of England.

I cant understand Babar Azam's strategy of playing just 5 specialist batsmen against West Indies in the first test at Tarouba and definitely we were a specialist batsman short on a bowler friendly pitch at Brian Lara academy at Tarouba. Also Ubaid Shah should have played in the first test in place of Aamer Jamal as Pakistani bowling attack lacked pace.

The Bangladesh defeats too showed that our batting is brittle and our bowling lacks pace.

In the end what I would like to say is that only Allah can save Pakistan in tests as we are looking like a pathetic test side at the moment.

Pakistan vs West Indies first test Day 3 2026

 

The match right now is on knife edge and is even stevens with Pakistan needing 3 more wickets to bowl West Indies out in their second innings and I am not sure Pakistan will be able to chase the target set out to them.

Pakistan squandered an excellent chance to take the lead in the first innings falling like nine pins and collapsing to Justin Greaves bowling. The pitch is showing wear and tear and it will be even more difficult to bat on Day 4 when Pakistan will be chasing the West Indies score and target set to them. 

Already the ball is keeping up and down on this pitch and it has become very hard to bat on this pitch. 

In the end what I would like to say is that it will take a minor miracle if Pakistan are to win this test match.

Pakistan vs West Indies first test 2026

 Well Pakistan is in driving seat in the first test at Tarouba against West Indies and they have seven wickets in hand with the score at 199 for 3 in reply to West indies total of 311 runs in their first innings. if Pakistan can get a substantial lead of over 100 runs in reply to West Indies total of 311 runs then Pakistan can even go on to win this test match weather permitting.

Shan Masood is in good form with 88 not out and Salman Ali Agha and later on Muhammad Rizwan will need to support him if Pakistan are to take lead in the first Innings against West Indies. Of the bowlers Muhammad Ali particularly impressed me a lot with his pace and outswing and with Mohammad Abbas as an accurate and experienced bowler Pakistan definitely has the fire power to take 20 wickets in this test match.

In the end what I would like to say is that hopefully the rain will not play spoil sport in this test match.
