Pakistan may be blessed with a lot of spin bowling talent like Noman Ali, Sajid khan, Arafat Minhas and Abrar Ahmad to name a few but on the other hand they are struggling in fast bowling department with pacers of genuine pace.
Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Abbas, Hasan ali and to some extent Shaheen Afridi are all medium pacers at best with no pace. Shaheen Afridi used to be a genuine fast bowler with a lot of pace and reverse swing but ever since his injury in 2023 during the Galle test in Sri Lanka against Sri Lanka he has lost all his pace and therefore venom in his bowling.
Pakistan has taken various steps like selecting Ubaid Shah for the tour of West Indies but they should have selected Ali raza as well as bowler of raw pace.
In the end what I would like to say is that with Shan Masood being replaced as captain by Babar Azam hopefully the results will come in favour of Pakistan in test cricket.
